Skirting and beading are both types of wooden floor edging. Skirting and beading are important accessories for any wooden floor and they are essential to make your room look complete. It will normally cost you around 5 per meter including material and labour to install a quad. Then when your new floor has been successfully installed they attach the quad this covers the gap between the floor and the skirting board.

If your room has neither you need to invest in skirting to install after your floor. They can be found in a variety of species to match and complement your flooring choice. Beading ruined the look of my expensive real wood floor. White beading is also much cheaper.

I actually put quickstep laminate down next when i took the skirting off for and the overall look was much better despite floor costing half as much. They are used to fill the gap between a newly installed floor and the walls of the room. You can stick the beading to either the skirting board or floor using grab adhesive. If you want to use white beading to match your white skirting boards you don t have to worry about the aforementioned tip.

Having previously had beading i would always fit under the skirting now it is a hassle and i nearly didn t bother but very pleased i did. Installing a quad is a shorter process than removing and reinstalling the existing skirting board and is a slightly cheaper option. It can be used as an alternative to beading although skirting comes in much more stylish options.
